The Hobbit Cover Design
Creating a fresh, alternative cover design for The Hobbit allowed me to illustrate in Procreate. As a child, I remember looking at the hand-done illustrations in this book and falling in love with the art. I created this sketch of Smaug with his gold as a sort of modern twist on these classic drawings and story. The old green background, traditional typeface, and gold color all call on the details of The Hobbit as well.
